The larger-screen variant of the standard iPhone 14 is the 14 Plus. Apple went with iPhone Big / iPhone Bigger this year instead of iPhone Mini / iPhone Big. It provides a 6.7-inch screen as opposed to the normal 14’s 6.1-inch display but has almost all of the same capabilities. Additionally, it boasts the longest battery life of any iPhone; but, in my experience, you can get far more than what Apple officially refers to as “all-day battery life. also you can learn our article on Apple iPhone 14 plus review.

The Apple iPhone 14 Plus is bigger than the base model, as its name implies. There aren’t any particularly notable cosmetic changes from the iPhone of a year ago. The iPhone 14 Plus’ design is unique in that it is heavier than the iPhone 13 series’ models, but having a generally comparable appearance. The iPhone 14 Plus is remarkably lightweight for a device with a 6.7-inch display. Compared to the 8.47 ounces of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it weighs only 7.16 ounces, which is a huge reduction. The iPhone 14 Plus feels rather natural given the available space, even though you are sacrificing one back camera. Although the iPhone 14 Plus and Pro Max are nearly the same size, I felt lighter in my pocket. The Galaxy S22 Plus weighs 6.9 ounces less even though it has a slightly smaller 6.6-inch display. The more streamlined Dynamic Island, which displays notifications and real-time activity, is only accessible on the iPhone 14 Pro series, which is unfortunate because the iPhone 14 Plus display still has a pronounced notch. The fact that it features an IP68 water-resistant Ceramic Shield glass back for durability gives it the look and feel of a high-end flagship model, nevertheless. The colours that are available for the iPhone 14 Plus are Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and Red.

Apple iPhone 14 plus review: Display

The Apple iPhone 14 Plus sports a 6.7-inch display, which is really the highlight of the phone because it’s the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max yet costs less than the Pro model. For people who don’t need or desire all the features available on the Pro model, it increases accessibility to the iPhone with the larger display. The iPhone 14 Plus has a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels, giving it a pixel density of 458 ppi, which is quite similar to that of the iPhone 14. Because it is an OLED display, the blacks are really black, and the colours are vivid and pop a lot. With a peak brightness of 1200nits, there is also plenty of light. When used outside, where the brightness reaches a maximum of 2000 nits, it’s not quite as dazzling as the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s display, but it is still a very impressive display. Even though the iPhone 14 Plus lacks ProMotion, the standard Apple display features like True Tone, Haptic Touch, and HDR support are present nonetheless. Instead of providing the 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate offered by the iPhone 14 Pro, it supports a conventional refresh rate of 60Hz. We did detect a very slight lag in the speed of scrolling when switching from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 14 Plus. Though it’s not a deal-breaker, you probably wouldn’t notice it unless you had just used an iPhone 14 Pro Max or 13 Pro Max model.

Apple’s iOS typically releases a new version with each new generation of the iPhone. In this instance, the iPhone 14 Plus ships with iOS 16, which adds additional capabilities including a programmable lock screen, an enhanced focus mode, and the ability to edit texts that have already been received in the past. The shared photo library, another feature of iOS 16.1, makes it possible for friends and family to manage their photos jointly. Another feature that makes it simple to own is how it interacts and connects to other Apple products, whether it’s opening the keyboard automatically to make entering passwords on Apple TV quicker or establishing a quick, dependable long-distance Bluetooth connection with my AirPods Max. It’s great how easy it is. It’s nearly a perfect illustration of how we want technology to be: strong, adaptable, and practical. All three of them describe the iPhone 14 Plus. While Apple doesn’t officially provide a time frame, you can anticipate new versions to emerge on the iPhone 14 Plus for up to the next five years. Apple also fully supports its handsets with new software for years. Durability is important since it keeps your phone safe and up to date with new features. The only companies that can equal Apple’s update schedule are Google and Samsung, albeit the schedules are never as precise. also you can check our article on Apple iPhone 14 plus review.

Hardware and performance

Unlike the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the Apple iPhone 14 Plus does not receive a processor upgrade. Under the hood, the A15 Bionic chip is similar to the iPhone 13’s, but it chooses the iPhone 13 Pro’s chip, which has a 5-core GPU instead of the 4-core GPU. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the more powerful huge smartphone rather than being on par with the iPhone 14 Plus, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing because the iPhone 14 Plus performs quite well. The normal iPhone 14 Plus, meanwhile, is more than capable overall, managing a variety of chores with ease, and it had no problems playing games like Call of Duty Mobile. Even while it isn’t nearly as quick as its Pro sibling, the iPhone 14 Plus will be more than sufficient unless you are using the two devices side by side. The iPhone 14 Plus has the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13 Pro series from a year ago, giving you the same CPU strength but more graphics power than the iPhone 13’s regular model. And while playing Mortal Kombat, we surely appreciated the added oomph.  We admired the attention to detail as we “finished” an opponent by shooting a fireball through him, leaving a hole in which his heart dangled. Playing Asphalt 9 Legends was fun too. As we raced through San Francisco and leapt off various ramps, the visuals stayed fluid even with several other cars vying for first place. The iPhone 14 Plus averaged 1,735 in single-core performance in Geekbench 5 and 4,473 in multi-core performance. With its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, the Galaxy S22 Plus scored 1,214 and 3,361 respectively. Stronger graphics performance is also a feature of the iPhone 14 Plus, albeit the difference isn’t as significant. The iPhone 14 Plus achieved 69 frames per second and 11,512 on 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited, compared to the S22 Plus’s 60 frames per second and 10,027.

Apple iPhone 14 plus review: Camera

When compared to the iPhone 13, the dual camera arrangement of the iPhone 14 models doesn’t seem to have altered much at first appearance. However, the 12-MP main camera did receive a significant boost as it is now the same as the iPhone 13 Pro. The pixel size is raised from 1.7 to 1.9 m as a result. Additionally, a superior light yield is ensured by switching from an f/1.6 to an f/1.5 aperture. In addition, the selfie camera has been improved. Additionally, it has a wider aperture (f/1.9 vs. f/2.2) than the iPhone 13’s front-facing camera. Additionally, it now has autofocus to produce even crisper images, especially up close. The iPhone 14 Plus’s main camera, which features optical image stabilization, takes superb pictures with vibrant, natural colors, a wide dynamic range, and a high level of detail. The photographs are nearly indistinguishable from those of the iPhone 13 in favorable lighting. But in low-light situations, the benefits of the Apple Photonic Engine are immediately noticeable. Pictures taken with the iPhone 14 Plus preserve a wealth of details and vibrant colors even in dimly lit environments thanks to the image processing engine. Even if the 12-MP ultra-wide camera can’t quite equal the main camera in terms of image quality, it nevertheless offers good results without access to image stabilization.

Battery life

The iPhone 14 Plus, according to Apple, has “the best battery life on iPhone.” Although we haven’t tested that claim yet, the endurance is amazing and is a major benefit of the iPhone 14 Plus over the standard iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Plus performed admirably, lasting 11 hours and 57 minutes on the our Battery Test, which entails continuous web browsing over 5G with a 150 nit screen brightness. you can read our article on Apple iPhone 14 plus review. This is much better than the iPhone 14’s average, which was 9:28. Even longer, 13:39 passed for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. In contrast, the Galaxy S22 Plus only had a maximum battery life of 9:46 in adaptive mode and 10 hours and 26 minutes in regular mode (60Hz) (120Hz). Unfortunately, the iPhone 14 Plus once more charges slowly, reaching 46% in 30 minutes in our testing using a 20W power supply. In the same amount of time, the Galaxy S22 Plus hit 70%, so Apple needs to catch up.

Apple iPhone 14 plus review: Price and availability

The iPhone 14 Plus starts at £949 and comes with 128GB of storage. You can upgrade to 256GB or 512GB for £1,059 or £1,279, respectively. That is a LOT of money to spend on a phone that still has a 60Hz display and a CPU from the previous year. Additionally, it costs £150 less than the cheapest 14 Pro ($1,099) and £100 more than the comparable iPhone 14 ($849). We strongly advise you to spend more money and acquire a Pro if you’re going to spend this much on a smartphone. Otherwise, it’s definitely worthwhile to look at the Android rivalry. There are excellent examples that show you don’t have to spend nearly a thousand to have a very capable smartphone, including the Google Pixel 7 (£589) and 7 Pro (£849). While the Pixel 7 is $350 less expensive and, despite being smaller, even this model features a screen that refreshes at 90Hz, the Pixel 7 Pro is £100 less expensive than the iPhone 14 Plus and has an additional 5x telephoto zoom camera.

Apple’s newest super-sized smartphone, the iPhone 14 Plus, builds on the strengths of the base model 14, such as its easier-to-repair architecture, and enlarges the screen. The 6.7-inch display offers significantly greater room for movie viewing, message reading, or just having larger text. The 14 Plus, however, is a pure huge phone, while the ordinary 14 hits a great balance between screen and device size. This makes it more difficult to handle and use with one hand. The 14 Plus’s standout feature—its extremely extended battery life—is made possible by its larger size. Few cell phones can operate normally for up to three days between charges, much less two. But due to poor exchange rates, it is highly expensive, especially in the UK.
