Both are free to use and hopefully great for you too. You can view the workouts even without a drawingup, but with your own user account, you can save and track your efforts with your own personalized workouts. Once you log in, GAIN Fitness will take you to the page where you can start building your personal exercise routine by giving the application a few variables to work on.

As you can see from the screenshot, you can enter the time you have to exercise (I have an hour) in a day; if it will be home or the gym; your fitness goal; and the type of workout you want. Depending on the information you enter here, the tuning options also change. The screen above shows the options I have set to work out home

By clicking on the blue Build Workout I create my personal super health and fitness regime. You can see the overview at the top and the breakdown of the exercises as you scroll down the page (screenshot above). The thing to love about this application is the uncluttered cleanliness and clarity of the information laid out in an easy to follow stream.

Let’s start training!

Click on the blue arrow to start training mode. The training mode is the display including visual guides you through all the exercises in your plan. It is a player you can pause-stop-play at any time. The progress is shown on the timeline bar below the animation. Audible alerts get you out of every set of every workout, so you don’t always have to keep an eye on the screen.

You can also better understand each exercise by going to each exercise individually and clicking the video link and also the details buttonAll information is displayed precisely. For example a small heat map of the body showing the areas exercised, or the breakdown of sets, repetitions and load. A mouse-over provides a more detailed explanation of the image.

Exercise routines can become routine after a while. GAIN Fitness lets you choose workout variations with a click, and you can shake up your entire routine to keep things interesting. You can save your workouts; print them out and share them on Facebook as well. The free iPhone app helps you track your exercises and is also your complete digital personal assistant for fitness habits. The app is free, but more advanced exercises are available as add-on packs for a fee. I found GAIN Fitness to be one of the easiest solutions to set up up you could say a simple training routine, or a personal training program. It’s straightforward and made me feel like I could achieve my fitness goals without being overwhelmed by all the information promoted by the fitness industry.
