The new Windows 10 apps are pretty good. One Microsoft app I tried recently was MSN again. Really cool app. Works as advertised and doesn’t slow down my system like some Microsoft apps did in Windows 7 and earlier versions. However, MSN Weather doesn’t seem to work in Windows 10 for some users. That shouldn’t be hard to see how well designed the app really is. 1. Update the operating system
A simple one trick which only takes a few moments of your time, but can work wonders. Press Windows key + I on your keyboard to open Settings and select Update & security.
Check for updates and download and install them immediately. These updates also include security updates and patches for a number of apps.
Restart your computer and check MSN again.
2. Update App
Open Windows Store and click the Downloads and Updates option in the menu.
Click Get Updates and see if one is available for MSN Weather. Update if yes and reboot when prompted.
3. Windows Start menu
Live Tile is known for messing around up MSN Weather. Click the Start menu and right-click the app to enable or disable the live tile feature from. Turn on the weather and see if the error MSN Weather not working is resolved or not. Maybe keep it turned off?

4. Synchronize date, time and location again
The MSN Weather app relies on the current date and time and your location to retrieve weather forecast information from the servers. Click on the date and time option in the taskbar and make sure it is correct. If not, right-click on it to select Adjust Date / Time.
Turn on Set time automatically and choose your time zone below. If that doesn’t work, you can also set them manually.
In the same window, under Region, select your location or rather your country.
These two things will tell MSN Weather to get the correct data. If your laptop comes with GPS, turn it on. You’re not done yet. Open Control Panel and click Clock and Region.
Click Date and Time.
Click Change settings under Internet time.
Make sure that the option Synchronize with an internet server is enabled and that ‘time.windows.com’ is also selected. If not, do so and click Update now.
You can also choose another option as it is not set in stone. Just update after selecting one and save the changes. If you are using a VPN or proxy, turn it off as this can change your location and confuse the MSN Weather app.
5. Troubleshooting
Any Windows 10 app can be fixed with a built-in setting. Open the settings again and look for Search and fix problems with Microsoft Store apps.
Click Apply repairs automatically and follow the onscreen instructions to see if anything comes up up
6. Reset and reinstall
Open Settings (Windows key + I) and click Apps.
Under Apps & features, search for MSN Weather and click it once to display the advanced options. Select it.
Hmmm, location app permission has been disabled on my computer because I don’t have GPS featureIf possible, enable it on your end and check before proceeding. I still use the Google Assistant to receive weather reports.

Reset will reinstall the app but you will not lose any data. If you uninstall MSN Weather, you will have to reinstall it from the Windows Store. Try both one by one and check if either fix MSN Weather not working error on your Windows 10 computer.
7. Clear the Windows Store Cache
Press Windows key + E to open the file explorer and navigate to the folder structure below. C: WindowsSystem32 Search for WSReset.exe, right-click it and select Run as administrator.

8. Register the Weather app again
Microsoft support suggests registering the weather app again can help. Press Ctrl + X to open a hidden menu and select PowerShell with administrator privileges there.
Copy and paste the command below and hit Enter to run it. It may take a while and I recommend that you restart your computer when it is done. 9. Third-party weather app
MSN Weather isn’t the only way to get weather insights and forecasts. A simple Google search will reveal several Windows 10 weather apps. In addition, there are many more for smartphones on both Android and iOS. Not to mention smart assistants like Siri and Google Assistant can also send you daily weather forecasts at a time that suits you.
