Step 7: You can rename the screenshot and also select the location where you want to save it. Then press Save button You can also click File on the Paint Ribbon menu and select Save As. Paint lists available formats to save your screenshot. Select the JPEG image and save the screenshot.
2. Use the Snipping Tool
Another tool you can use to save your screenshots as JPG instead of the standard PNG format is the built-in Snipping Tool. Step 1: Type the Snipping Tool into the search box of your PC and launch the Snipping Tool.
Step 2: Tap New button and drag the cursor over the area of the screen you want to capture.
Step 3: Press the shortcut Ctrl + S on your keyboard to save the screenshot or go to File> Save As.
Step 4: In the ‘Save as type’ option, tap the drop-down list button and select JPEG file as the format. You can also choose the location where you want to save the file.
Step 5: Tap Save and your screenshot will be saved in the selected image format – JPG. Fun fact: JPG is the smallest image format in the world. It is faster to send JPG files online because they are easy to compress.
