Guide: How to Create Logo in Paint 3D on Windows 10 PC
Think for a moment about Facebook, Twitter or another brand. What is the first thing that comes to mind about them? Their logo. A logo is important to a brand. It’s how people remember and remember your brand. Usually, a logo should be created by a professional designer. But if your resources are limited and you are a good designer yourself, you can try out the available tools. No. We are not talking about Photoshop or GIMP. You can create a logo in the pre-installed paint app of your Windows 10 system. The new paint app, known as Paint 3D, is an improved version of MS Paint. If you are wondering, how is that possible? Create a logo in Paint 3D
Here’s what to do. Step 1: Launch the Paint 3D app on your PC and click New button on the welcome screen. You can also click the Menu option and select New. Tip: Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + N to start a blank canvas.
Step 2: Draw your logo design on a blank canvas. Now it is up to your creativity to use the tools of Paint 3D to draw a logo. Here are some of the tools at your disposal:
2D shapes
Paint 3D offers various elements (lines and curves) to draw shapes of your choice. You can even choose from the given range of shapes such as circle, rectangle, arrow, etc. To add a 2D shape, click the 2D Shapes option at the top and draw or select a shape on the right.
The problem with 2D shapes is that once you are done editing the element, you cannot edit it further or change its position. That’s where 3D shapes help.
3D shapes
With 3D shapes, you can not only edit the elements at any time, but also give them a realistic touch. To add such objects, click on the 3D shapes at the top and select the shape of your choice. You can also draw your shape with 3D doodles. Use the dropdown on the right to add an effect to the object. Tip Use the four icons outside the 3D shape box to rotate and change the depth and angle.
You can even combine 2D and 3D shapes or add a 2D shape to a 3D object. As I told you before, it all depends on what you want from your logo. Tip Use the 3D doodle to trace around an existing image to cut out a shape.
Stickers
I like Paint 3D stickers. These stickers automatically attach themselves to the 3D objects. This gives your logo more depth. To add a sticker, click the Stickers option at the top and select a sticker. You can even create custom stickers of your own laptop (more about that below in the bonus tip segment). After selecting your sticker, draw it over the 3D shape. Then adjust it to your liking. For example, in the following image, I used the sun sticker and added it to the 3D shape.
Add text
As with 2D and 3D shapes, you can add 2D and 3D text. All properties of 3D shapes also apply to 3D text. That is, you can change the angle and depth, fit a sticker on it and edit it at any time.
Step 3: Once the final Your logo design is ready, click the Crop icon at the top and remove the extra areas using the dotted box. Note: You may need to leave some extra space for 3D objects. You can crop it after saving the image.
Step 4: Click on the Menu option at the top and select Save As from there, followed by choosing Image Format.
Step 5: This step is very important. If you don’t track it, your logo will have a white background. So to make the image transparent, check the box next to Transparency. However, we are not done yet. Saving in a format that maintains transparency is also necessary. For that we use the PNG format, which is different from other image formats such as JPG as it keeps the transparency alive. To save the logo as PNG, select PNG (Image) from the drop-down list under Save as type.
Step 6: Finally, press Save button and choose the folder where you want to save your logo.
Bonus Tip: Add custom stickers
You can add custom stickers in Paint 3D in two ways: create from an existing image or load a sticker from your PC.
Make a sticker from an image
If you like part of an image and want it as your sticker, open that image in Paint 3D. Then highlight the section using the selection tool. Click on the Make Sticker on the right.
Using the above method, the sticker will also have the background of the image. You can first remove the background from an image in Paint 3D and then convert it into a sticker. Once you click on create sticker, open the image you want to add the sticker to. Then click on the stickers at the top and click on the rightmost icon below them on the right. Here you will find all your personalized stickers.
Add sticker from PC
If you already have a sticker on your PC, simply click on Stickers present in the top bar. Then click on the rightmost icon and click on Add sticker option. Navigate to the image you want to load as a sticker.
Don’t complicate it
As they say: ‘simplicity conquers everything’. It is good practice to have a simple logo that is easy to remember. However, that doesn’t mean the logo has to be bland.
