If you are using a PC
If you have YouTube on your desktop or laptop, the steps to do it are relatively easy. Step 1: Log into your YouTube to visit the homepage. Step 2: Scroll through to find a video you don’t want there because it doesn’t match your interest, click the three vertical dots next to the video name, then click Not interested.
This makes YouTube understand that you are not interested in such recommendations and will try to filter out similar videos in the future. Note: You will have to follow this several times for as long as possible. Usually until you see YouTube recommending the type of videos you like.

So if you delete a video from your home page on your PC by clicking Not interested, it will also affect the recommendations on your smartphone. Step 1: Browse the YouTube app on your Android or iOS to find that one video you want to delete. In my case, it’s Triple H who hits poor Jimmy Fallon on his desk. I can’t see my favorite host Jim getting hit, so I want to get rid of it.
Step 2: Click on the three vertical dots and then clock on Not interested.
That’s all. YouTube will know better now and will try to stop showing similar videos in the future by filtering out the category.
How to Clear recent searches on YouTube
It is very understandable if you want to clear your recent searches from YouTube search bar. You might want to show your friend that cool goal Messi scored last week, but your search history includes, well, something like perks of eating your nose. You don’t want your friend to see that – clearly not! Now this option is available in the web version of YouTube, and it shows up also on your smartphone. There are several options to do it on both the web and the smartphone version.
Add videos to the playlist I like
If you like a video, you can click on something like that (thumbs up button as shown in the screenshots below: Liking videos on Android Like videos on PC This will add the video to your list of videos you like on YouTube, which you can access later. You can find the list of liked videos on your PC and smartphone as shown in the screenshots below.
You can find the Liked videos option by clicking on the menu button in the top left corner of your YouTube homepage. There is an option to play them in random order.
You can find videos you like on your smartphone app by clicking the Library options in the bottom menu. From there you can also shuffle them.
Save videos to playlists
Let’s say you watch an educational video that you don’t necessarily want to like because it will infiltrate your list of liked videos, which includes only cat videos, for example. If so, you can add these videos to a new playlist.
How to Add YouTube videos to a new playlist
You can easily add videos to your favorites list or create a new playlist to separate them better. You can even add them to the Watch Later section, a standard YouTube playlist accessible on PC and smartphone, as shown in the screenshots below. Watch Later option can be accepted on YouTube PC by clicking the menu button in the top left corner of your home page.
Create new YouTube playlist on a PC
Step 1: Click on SAVE button next to a video.
Step 2: Click Favorites or Create New Playlist. If you click on Create New Playlist, you will need to choose a name for your new playlist and its privacy – public, unlisted, or private, as shown in the screenshot below.
Done this, now you will be showing this new playlist every time you click on SAVE button for a new video.
Create new YouTube playlist on it Mobile App
You can do this from both the home page and the video page. When you are on the homepage, click on the three vertical dots next to the video title that will highlight the next menu. Then click Add to playlist.
On it you can create a new playlist by giving it a new name and choosing the privacy level. When you are on the video page, click Save buttonChances are that YouTube will automatically add the video to the most recent playlist. In my case it is Watch later. Follow these steps if you want to change the playlist: Step 1: Click the Saved in Recent Playlistup popup box that appears at the bottom of the screen and move the video to a new playlist accordingly.
If you missed that dollup, proceed to step 2. Step 2: Click the Saved button again and move the video to the desired playlist.
A YouTube of what you like
Following these suggestions will ensure you get the best YouTube experience on your smartphone and PC. However, YouTube can choose up suggestions quickly and add an unwanted video to interfere with your experience. To avoid that, there are a few things you can try. You can always watch a bizarre video that doesn’t satisfy your interest by watching it on YouTube in an incognito tab. That will not cause YouTube to add the video to your recommendations since you are not signed in. If the video requires you to be an adult, you must log in. In this case, you should clear the recent search, or remove similar future recommendations by clicking Not interested button as shown in the steps above.
