Samsung plans to add satellite communications to his Galaxy S23 series, which is due to be unveiled in 2023. Apple added a similar feature to its iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro devices launched in September. The company didn’t specifically say how fast the satellite network was, but it was clearly inconvenient to open up to non-emergency traffic. Elec’s report says it’s not clear if Samsung will hold off on satellite functionality for its higher-end Galaxy S23 models, or if it will come to all models, but Apple will keep the emergency SOS feature over satellite for its best iPhones.
